COUNTY News:Celebrate Pride Week with Los Alamos Public Libraries through a childrens Storytime program, a night of LGBTQ+ literature, book recommendations, and a book giveaway.Join an in-person, outdoor Storytime celebrating love and family with childrens books by LGBTQ+ authors 10 a.m. Thursday, June 10 at Mesa Public Library. The Storytime is best for ages 3-6, all are welcome. Library staff will announce a Pride Pick of the Day Monday through Saturday, June 7-12, in which they recommend queer titles they love in a particular collection or genre. Courtesy photoSHELTER News:Shaaze is a beautiful, long-haired female Maine Coon cross ready for a home where she can cuddle with the family.She loves cuddling so much that when a volunteer was at the shelter Thursday evening, Shaaze walked from the top of one of the kennels right onto the shelter volunteers shoulders and refused to be put down the rest of the time the volunteer was there.She is reported to be only six months old, but she is a very mellow cat, with just a bit of kitten spunk in there. She would love to find a home with her buddy Paloma who is also at the shelter , but she is more concerned about finding a home where shell be showered with affection.Call Liz at 505 377-5389 for more information about this wonderful cat.The Shelter, 226 East Road, 505 662-817 stanley cup 9, has a large selection of adoptable pets. Be aware that the Los Alamos Animal Shelter is NOT a no-kill shelter 8230; it does have a nice selection of animals, but there is currently not room for them all.
