Courtesy photoATOMIC TUMBLERS News:Charlotte Ulrich and Liz Lockhart were the top all-around scorers for the Atomic Tumblers at the Los Alamos Invitational on Nov. 3. Ulrich, with a 35.55 in the all-around, and Lockhart with a 35.45, were among 137 gymnasts from seven teams that participated in the meet. Thirty Atomic Tumblers competed; 14, including Ulrich and Lockhart, in the Jr. Olympic Program, 14 in the Xcel Program, and two competed stanley termos in both. The Xcel program is an alternative to the rigorous Jr. Olympic Program, allowing gymnasts the opportunity to perform routines choreographed to fit each individual.Ulrich won the Level 5 Junior A Division, earning gold in the all-a stanley cup round 35.55 and floor 9.2 , silver on beam 9.05 and vault 8.55 and bronze on bars 8.75. Lockhart, the only Level 6 gymnast to compete for the Tumblers, took gold on bars 8.75 , a tie for gold on vault 9.2 , and silver on beam 9.0 , floor 8.5 , and all-around 35.45. Both gymnasts achieved their highest all-around scores of the season in this meet.Lilly Bueck, in the Level 5 Junior B Division, was the third highest scorer for the Tumblers, achieving first place in her division with an all-around score of 35.35. Bueck also earned gold on vault 8.95 , silver on bars 8.9 , bronze on floor 8.75 and 7 place on beam 8.75. Level 5 Child Division Katie Wingos strong performance earned gold on bars 9.1 , |
